Travel Wifi vs HippocketWifi

TravelWiFi and HippocketWifi are portable WiFi or MiFi providers that started in France. They both allow travelers to stay connected while traveling in certain parts of the world without paying for costly roaming charges from their everyday service providers?

So does it really matter which one you choose?

When it comes to customer satisfaction, there’s a clear winner. One service stands out with significantly better reviews for reliability, ease of use, and customer service. This makes it the top choice for travelers, especially those looking for roaming solutions in Europe.

Travel WiFi Reviews

TravelWiFi’s reviews are mostly negative, and particular highlights include Calli Ehler’s review, which states, “I spent $75 on a product that was completely useless.”

Many customers complain of poor device performance, devices not arriving or arriving late, and difficulties with customer service when issues occur.

Hippocketwifi Reviews

Users of HippocketWiFi consistently share positive experiences, praising the ease of device acquisition, the ability to connect multiple devices, and the straightforward return process. These testimonials are reassuring for potential users.

One such reviewer said “Always terrific service…Device is extremely easy to use, ” but there are thousands of other examples.

Hippocketwifi Has More Options And a Better Pricing for Long Term Rentals

HippocketWifi’s pricing is designed to accommodate a variety of travel durations and device preferences, offering a level of flexibility that caters to individual needs.

As with TravelWiFi and other pocket WiFi services, HippocketWifi’s solutions tend to become cheaper daily over longer periods.

Admittedly, TravelWiFi’s pricing structure is more straightforward and is slightly more competitive than HippocketWifi’s over shorter trips. Still, for longer stays and higher and more reliable connections, HippocketWifi is the clear winner.

Hippocketwifi Offers More Delivery or Pick-up Options

TravelWiFi offers coverage over 130 different countries. However, you can see in the following table that only a handful of major countries and tourist destinations include pick-up and drop-off points.

TravelWiFi’s coverage versus pick-up and drop-off locations.

Unless you’re leaving from or traveling to the United States, France, Spain, or Mexico, your choice for pick-up and drop-off will be severely limited.

HippocketWifi offers express delivery within one business day in Europe and over 35,000 pick-up locations across the continent. Pick-up locations include major airports and hotels, allowing travelers to get their devices upon arrival.

Hippocketwifi Has More Pocket WiFi Options at Your Disposal

The options available from HippocketWiFi also provide more options to customers. You can opt for the cost-effective 4G device, which offers speeds up to 100Mbps with connectivity for up to 10 devices simultaneously. Then, there’s the XXL model, with 20 hours of battery life.

The newer 5G models offer speeds up to 1.5Gbps and up to 20 simultaneously connected devices, ideal for users who need a lot of data or high-speed connections, like business travelers.

TravelWiFi offers a range of options and other products. Still, poor coverage and slow speeds remain an issue, especially outside major European cities.

People Have Fewer Issues with Hippocketwifi

As the review scores and the content of HippockeWifi reviews indicate, users have much fewer technical issues with the service. However, when they do have to contact customer service with an issue, they tend to praise it.

Conversely, TravelWiFi’s reviews point to WiFi not working in certain areas, device malfunctions, and unresponsive or unhelpful customer support in the event of an issue.

One user, Joseph Yin, explains this in their review on Trustpilot:

“Sapphire 3 failed in Greece…customer service took 1.5 days to admit there was no fix”

They explained that TravelWiFi refunded the service plan but not the device. Customer service insisted the customer keep the device.

“I can’t understand why they would make me keep a device that doesn’t work as promised.”

The review ends with them stating, “I would recommend avoiding this company.”

The Verdict

While TravelWiFi may seem appealing with its wide coverage and range of products, it’s crucial to consider t

he reviews and experiences of other customers. These, along with the low scores on platforms like Trustpilot, clearly indicate HippocketWifi as the more reliable choice.
