Located on the banks of the River Lace, Fussen is an ancient city full of romance. There are crisscrossed medieval streets of cobblestone and abound gorgeous Baroque churches. Fussen is at the southern end of the “Romantic Road” in Bavaria. Nowhere is better than the natural geography that Fussen occupies. It’s located at the foot of the Alps and surrounded by majestic mountains. There are gentle alpine hills and peaceful lakes, which is like a fairyland on earth. Fussen is a resort with a fresh air and a pleasant environment. Fussen is famous for its peaceful town, beautiful castles and historic palaces. The living environment and pace of life are the main reasons why many people are fascinated for Fussen.
Neuschwanstein has undoubtedly become a business card for German tourism, which is located in the Alps on the southern border of Germany. This masterpiece that Ludwig II has contributed with national strength has a fairy-tale looks and scenery. When you stand on the Marian bridge, you can’t help appreciating it. The interior of Neuschwanstein is also extremely exquisite, but after all, it is impossible to cover up the tragic fate of Ludwig II. Neuschwanstein was built in 1869. 17 years later, when Ludwig II died, the facade was just completed. Three months after the death of the king, the government opened it as a museum. 2. Marian Bridge
Marian Bridge connects the two hills south of Neuschwanstein crossing the valley and the waterfall. It’s the best location for shooting Neuschwanstein. The bridge deck is paved with planks with the large gap and it creaks when you walk on it. You can see that Neuschwanstein Castle stands on a mountain peak from the Marian Bridge. To the north, you can see that the higher peaks of the Alps are hidden in the clouds, but the visible parts are stacked.
3. Alp Lake
Lake Alp is located in the mountains southwest of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. It’s about 5 km in circumference and surrounded by jungle. There are many wild swan resting in the lake. Alp Lake is located below the Zugspitze and is very beautiful. It’s quiet like the satin under the mountain with the color blue and green. You have different sceneries if you look the lake by the waterfront and on the mountain. You couldn’t miss a fun boating trip, which is very comfortable. There are ships, canoes and pedal boats on the large lake.
Hohenschwangau also known as Rennes Schwangau Castle is a symbol of nobility and romanticism. It is still known today because it was first recorded as a swan stone castle in the 12th century created and owned by the knights of Schwangau town. The Castle has won the favor of the royal court since its completion and has become the central theme of the court lyrics. Hohenschwangau was completed in 1836, Ludwig II spent his childhood here. 5. Swan Lake
Swan Lake is the prototype of the Swan Lake mentioned in the famous ballet drama. It’s not easy to enter the area of the Swan Lake, but the scenery is definitely worth spending time and a lot of energy. On the other side of the lake you can see the beautiful pictures of Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein and the Alps. The swan in the lake is relaxed and elegant, which is extremely eye-catching on the sparkling lake.
6. Reichenstraβe Street
Reichenstraβe is a main street in the old town of Fussen. The historic mansion on both sides is also along the Via Claudia Augusta road that extended to northern Italy during the ancient Roman. At the end of the south side of Reichenstraβe Street, there is a city fountain with the statue of St. Magnus who is the patron saint of Fussen. There are two main squares, three churches and some colorful fairy-tale houses on the street.
7. Fussen Museum
The Fussen Museum occupies part of the St. Mang Monastery and reawakens memories of the 16th century that Fussen was a violin manufacturing center. You can also visit the Baroque Festival Room, the Romanesque Cloister and the beautiful Chapel of Santa Ana in the Abbey. The museum retains the original frame of the original monastery including the original ancient murals that remain in the museum and become natural exhibits. There is another hall that completely preserves the original appearance of the library of the monastery in the museum with two layers of books and exquisite carvings, which makes you who love reading books very happy.
8. Weiss Church
The Weiss Church (1745–1754) is situated in a beautiful alpine valley and is well preserved. It is an excellent masterpiece of the Bavarian Rococo style, and you will feel the baroque style and Rococo’s playfulness as soon as you enter. The design philosophy of the entire church revolves around the central principle of “pilgrimage” emphasizing the theme of repentance and salvation. Both painting and sculpture are fascinating. The walls of the church are white and the columns are decorated with gold patterns, which brings a sense of holiness. The murals on the dome are lively and dynamic, which form the gorgeous and bright style of the church.
9. Holy Spirit Hospital Church
There is a red building on the Lech River that is called the Holy Spirit Hospital Church. The church was burned down in 1733. The front of the reconstructed church is a gorgeous Rococo style mural depicting the god of firefighting – St. Florian and the patron saint of the Lech River – St. Ridov.
10. Konigliche Kristall – Therme
There is Hot Spring that is called Konigliche Kristall Therme near Fussen. It is a salt crystal ore hot spring. There are different pools of different percentages salt. You float on the hot springs of 12% salt, which is like being soaked in the Dead Sea. Soaking in the hot springs, basking in the warm sun and looking at the dignified beauty of Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, all of which make a very wonderful travel experience.
